Why Olympians Will Be Eating Less McDonald's And Other Fast Food In Paris

Olympians might traditionally fuel up with fast food, like Usain Bolt's chicken nugget habit, but this will change in Paris.

At the London Olympics, a McDonald’s pop-up was very popular, but Paris 2024 will emphasize more nutritious meals.

Olympic Village head Philipp Würz has vowed to replace fast food with healthier options, focusing on balanced, gourmet meals.

Michelin-starred chefs are designing the menu, featuring French delicacies like croissants with poached eggs, artichoke cream, and truffles.

The menu will include abundant plant-based options, with fast food items like veggie hot dogs and burgers available on the side.

Athletes can’t leave the village during their stay, which starts five days before their event and ends two days after.

Alcohol will not be available to athletes or spectators inside stadiums, though an alcohol-free sports bar will be provided.

Despite the lack of booze, the Paris 2024 Village will offer plenty of French cuisine and mocktails for celebratory moments.
